COOPERATION OF MUNICIPALITY OF PALILULA NIS AND THE GIRONDE REGION OF FRANCE

President of Municipality of Palilula Niš Boban Džunić received the Honorary Consul of France in Nis, Sasa Miljkovic, director of the French Institute in Nis Orelie Michelle, and Aleksandra Arsic, professor of French at primary school "Kralj Petar I", in order to present the forthcoming cooperation activities - visiting groups of students from Nis elementary school to College Marcellin Berthelot Begley, Gironde district, where their performance will present the City of Nis, Serbia. Going to France is planned for October 14th, but by then there is the need to provide additional funds for this visit, and this was stated at this meeting.

French Embassy in Belgrade has allocated funds for this program and it is expected that the City of Nis and Municipality of Palilula, and parents of students to support this cooperation. According to the Honorary Consul Miljkovic, cooperation of the City of Nis and the French Gironde department in the area of youth, culture and environmental protection is established in October 2012th, with the support of the French Embassy in Serbia, within the specific activities of elementary school "Kralj Petar I" and the French College Marcellin Berthelot Begley from the Gironde.

In the framework of the World Francophone Day in Nis, on March 27th this year, the students of sixth grade of school "Kralj Petar I", gathered around the theater group called'' 018'', with remarkable performance at the Children's Center with play'' Oh la la college''. Alexander Arsic, a professor of French, who organized this activity, said that the play'' Oh la la college'' is  a story of school life of students. Before leaving for France, the students of the theater group will perform a puppet show for charity, and that was agreed on this occasion.

During this working meeting in Municipality of Palilula, President Boban Džunić talked with French diplomats about other possibilities for cooperation with the Embassy of France. Our cooperation will be two-sided and will do what our institutions and organizations established with the French partners used to support humanitarian action "Let's help our children," which is implementing for several months in the municipality Palilula. I expect that French Embassy help this activity, which for many children means life, and we call upon other socially responsible companies that are successfully working in our territory. President Džunić reminded that Palilula last year established a collaboration with the French city of Doelen, after the implementation of project activities by the students and professors of High School "Svetozar Markovic".
